Domestic Short Hair - Gray and white - Mimi - Medium - Young
A good Samaritan had observed Mimi, a grey/white, cute as can be cat in a store in Yonkers. She had recently had a litter of kittens. Her job was to keep the mice population down. There was some food thrown on the floor for he and she was not being cared for. She had a marked limp and was holding her right paw up most of the time. The good Samaritan and some of the Westchester Humane Society volunteers were able to bring Mimi to the shelter. She was examined by a veterinarian and was found to be healthy but her collar bone had been broken at some point and her paw was injured. She has now been spayed and given all necessary vaccinations.
When it became clear that something was clearly wrong with her paw, shelter volunteers brought Mimi to specialists who determined that her paw was malformed either through a birth defect or trauma. In the future Mimi might need an amputation of her front leg. The costs for the surgery will be completely covered. This will free her of future pain. For now she is being observed as how she is using her paw to see which steps need to be taken. Mimi is a sweet very friendly cat who loves to follow her human around, watch television and will thrive on either three or four legs!
